Abstract. Adenomas of the Vater papilla are benign neoplasms, but due to the tendency to malignancy in 30-40% of cases they should be removed. Methods of removing tumors of the Vater papilla are pancreatoduodenal resection, transduodenal papillectomy and minimally invasive intraluminal interventions. To choose the optimal treatment method, it is necessary to classify neoplasms of the large papilla of the duodenum, which determines the option of surgical intervention. The developed classification, taking into account the nature of the growth of the neoplasm and the spread to the wall of the duodenum, the terminal sections of the common bile and main pancreatic ducts, allows us to determine the most effective and safe method of surgical intervention for each type of neoplasm.

Key words: adenoma of the Vater papilla, endoscopic interventions, papillectomy, tumors of the Vater papilla, endoscopic classification.
