Abstract. Prostate cancer (PC) is a malignant neoplasm arising from the epithelium of the prostate gland. Treatment of this malignant neoplasm can be carried out by several methods. Proton therapy is one of the priorities and least traumatic for the surrounding healthy tissues. In this review, we summarize current data on the epidemiology, treatment methods, characteristics, clinical advantages and disadvantages of proton therapy.
