 Abstract. Sarcomas are a group of malignant diseases originating from different types of connective tissue. Not much more than 200 cases of esophageal leiomyosarcoma have been registered worldwide. The first published case of esophageal leiomyosarcoma dates to 1902. This paper describes a successful case of treatment of a 55-year-old patient with a locally advanced form of esophageal leiomyosarcoma.
