Abstract
The aim of the study was to study the dynamics of some statistical indicators of colorectal cancer in the Republic of Udmurtia in order to evaluate them and predict the dynamics.
Material and methods. A retrospective analysis of a number of statistical indicators on colorectal cancer taken from the regional Population Cancer Registry for the period from 2001 to 2020 was carried out. When evaluating the data obtained, the BIOSTAT 4.3 statistical software package was used. The forecast of epidemiological intensive indicators was calculated for the next five years using the polynomial trend method.
Results. In 2020, the proportion of colorectal cancer (both sexes) of all malignant neoplasms in the Republic of Udmurtia was 14,7%. The «rough» incidence rate was 58,7, and the standardized rate was 31,6 (per 100 000 population). There is a clear trend towards an increase in the incidence since 2001 (growth rate — 191,21%). The «rough» mortality rate was 30,6, and the standardized one was 15,6 (per 100 000 population). The growth of the indicator, starting from 2001, amounted to 190,06%. The proportion of patients with colorectal cancer who died within a year after registration of all those registered during the year compared with 2001 (39,2%) decreased significantly (17,3%).
Conclusion. In the period from 2001 to 2020 in the Republic of Udmurtia, an increase in the gross incidence of colorectal cancer has been noted. The mortality rate also has an upward trend.
