Abstract. Adenocarcinoma is a disease characterized not only by heterogeneity of morphological types of tumors, but also by different etiology, response to treatment, and prognosis. Adenocarcinoma, compared with squamous cell carcinoma, often has a different response to chemotherapy, differs in metastasis, recurrence rate and prognosis.

The purpose of the present study was to explore the state of endocervical carcinomas classification problem and morphological characteristics.  The lack of consensus on the optimal classification of endocervical adenocarcinomas stimulates the search and proposal of new approaches. Accurate determination of the tumor stage is important for the choice of treatment tactics. The international group of experts Diaz De Vivar A., Roma A.A., Park K.J., Alvarado-Cabrero I., Rasty G., Chanona-Vilchis J.G. et al. proposed new morphological classification of endocervical adenocarcinoma, which is based on the types/patterns A, B and C and has been supplementing the FIGO classification; it can be used in the assessment of tumor the process, determining the prognosis and choosing treatment tactics.

Key words: endocervical adenocarcinoma, classification, morphological characteristics.
