Abstract. Modern medicine offers two main approaches to breast reconstruction: the use of implants (endoprostheses, tissue expanders) and reconstruction using the patient’s own tissues. A combination of these methods is also possible. This article presents a series of clinical cases of using endoprostheses in reconstructive stages of surgical treatment after mastectomy in patients with breast cancer.
Based on our own experience, we conclude that performing reconstructive-plastic interventions allows for significant improvement of aesthetic and functional results of surgical treatment while maintaining oncological safety indicators for patients.
Key words: breast cancer, mastectomy, breast reconstruction, endoprostheses.
