Abstract
To evaluate the immediate results of multiorgan resections in patients with cancer of the proximal stomach.
Material and methods. In 185 patients combined gastrectomy was performed in patients, diagnosed with proximal part of stomach cancer without invading oesophagus were operated in Tatarstan Cancer Centre in two surgical departments. The removal or resection of one organ was performed in 97 (52.4%), two organs ― in 47 (25.4%), three organs ― in 41 patients (22.1%). Postoperative complications were observed in 18 patients (9.8%), out of them in 10 (5.4%) dead occurred. Combined surgery for cancer of the proximal stomach provide a relatively satisfactory results of surgery.
