Abstract. The results of radiofrequency ablation of 72 patients with liver metastases from primary tumors of various localizations. 51 (70.8%) patients had solitary metastatic lesions, 17 patients (23.6%) had 2 lesions, 4 patients (5.6%) ― 3 lesions, 97 foci were exposed totally. Methods of radiation and nuclear diagnosis within 24 months of observation, revealed continued growth ― in 7 cases, continued growth combined with intraorgan dissimination ― in 10 cases, intraorgan local spread ― in 16 cases, the stabilization of metastatic disease in the liver was observed in 39 cases.

Radiofrequency ablation is an effective treatment method for patients with metastatic liver cancer of various primary sites. A number of limitations of the method are related to the size of metastatic lesions in the liver and the characteristics of their localization.

Key words: radiofrequency ablation, metastatic liver tumors, FDG-PET/CT.
