THE RELEVANCE OF ANESTHETIC PROTECTION TO THE STRESS-LIMITING FACTORS IN ONCOLOGY

Abstract. There are given a basic date of the mechanisms of the surgical stress response, and how pain is generated in the central part of the nociceptive system. It is shown that inadequate anesthetic protect from surgical stress promotes reactions which causes uncorrected changes in the body. It is concluded that the techniques of regional anesthesia with prolonged patient-controlled epidural analgesia facilitate stress-protective antinociceptive protection.
