EXPERIENCE OF APPLICATION OF SILICONE MENTOR IMPLANTS IN BREAST RECONSTRUCTION FOR CANCER IN 2015

Abstract

Introduction. The best material for breast cancer reconstruction is own tissues, however, up to 80% of breast reconstructions performed using implants. The article presents a brief review of the use of implants in reconstructive surgery for breast cancer, types, characteristics and selection criteria of silicone implants.

The aim of the study was to evaluate treatment outcomes of breast cancer patients after reconstructive surgery using silicone implants and tissue expanders Mentor in 2015.

Materials and methods. From January to May 2015 breast implants Mentor were used in 71 patient with breast cancer an average age of 43,5±7,4 years. For 5 months of the Mentor implants used in 79 reconstructive operations.

The results and conclusion. On described clinical study shows the efficacy of implants Mentor at various primary and delayed reconstructive plastic surgery in the form of receiving excellent and good cosmetic, stable surgical results, the absence of complications, which makes the Mentor implants for use in surgical treatment of breast cancer for effective rehabilitation.
