Abstract. The paper presents the experience of treatment of acute expansion of the thyroid cysts using minimally invasive techniques. At the first stage, percutaneous destruction of the cyst was carried out as an emergency by introducing 96% ethanol into it. Three months later, laser-induced therapy of a solid node residue was performed. Against the background of treatment, positive dynamics was noted in the form of the disappearance of clinical manifestations, a decrease in the size of nodes from 13.9±2.77 to 0.86±0.30 cm3.
The method of staged treatment with minimally invasive methods of acute expansion of the thyroid cysts is highly effective and safe, can be recommended in clinical practice.
Key words: nodular goiter, thyroid cysts, minimally invasive treatment methods, transcutaneous ethanol destruction, laser-induced thermotherapy.
