Abstract. A clinical case of a 47-year-old patient who entered the thoracic surgical Department with a diagnosis of сentral cancer of the left main bronchus, T4N2M0 (stage IIIB), atelectasis of the left lung with abscess, left-sided pleurisy is presented. The patient underwent surgery for urgent indications in the volume of pneumonectomy on the left. After the operation, the stage was changed: T4N1M0 (stage III). After 9,5 years the patient is alive without signs of progression.
