Abstract
The aim of the study is to evaluate the results of fluoroscopy-guided bronchoscopy for morphological verification of diagnosis, among patients suspicious for peripheral lung cancer in Tatarstan Cancer Center.
Fluoroscopy-guided bronchoscopy with biopsy was performed among 142 patients with suspicion for peripheral lung cancer.
In 79 cases among 142 patients morphological verification was achieved after fluoroscopy-guided biopsy. In 33 cases morphological verification wasn’t achieved after bronchoscopy. Diagnosis of lung cancer was withdrawn for 30 patients. Thus, among patients with lung cancer, the diagnosis was confirmed in 79 cases (70.5%).
Fluoroscopic-guided bronchoscopy is an effective method for morphological verification for patients with suspicion for peripheral lung cancer.
Key words: peripheral lung cancer, peripheral pulmonary lesion, fluoroscopy-guided bronchoscopy.
