Abstract. The article assesses the quality of medical care for patients of the malignant neoplasms in the Samara region in the period 2012-2016. Studied trends in morbidity, mortality, quality of diagnosis (incl. the active detection, early diagnosis, neglect, 1-year mortality, proportion of patients had been registered for more than 5 years). It is shown that in the process of practical implementation in the regional health care system medical care to cancer patients, focused on early detection and timely cancer treatment, failed in General to improve the quality of diagnosis of malignant neoplasms. However, deficiencies identified in the system of active detection of malignant neoplasms of the colon, breast, lung, prostate, stomach and cervix, showed that there is signicant scope for improvement. According to the results of the analysis developed by the organizational decisions and the main directions of improving the system of medical aid to cancer patients in the Samara region.
