Abstract. The main directions of the development of methods for diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, the impact on the incidence in the Kirov region in comparison with the all-Russian trends are determined. A slight increase in the incidence of breast cancer in 2015 is found, which corresponds to the indicators in the Russian Federation. At the same time, a slight decrease in mortality was shown. An increase in survival in the Kirov region at the I and II stages of the disease, along with a decrease in III and IV, compared with the indicators for the RF. It has been revealed that the combined methods are the most important among the methods of breast cancer treatment. Progress has been highlighted in the treatment of neglected forms, this fact is directly related to the development and introduction of modern diagnostic methods, for example, SPECT, into the general practice. And as a small role played the emergence of targeted therapy. Such trends as an increase in the incidence in the Kirov region, a reduction in the lethality of breast cancer, compared with previous years, can be directly related to the introduction of new methods of treatment and diagnosis of breast cancer in the practice of COCOD.
