Abstract. The article assesses the quality of medical care for patients with malignant neoplasms of the stomach, oral cavity and esophagus in the Samara region in the period 2003-2016. Tendencies of morbidity, mortality, diagnostic quality indicators (including active detection, early diagnosis, neglect, 1-year mortality, share of patients registered for 5 years and more), as well as observed survival were studied. In the course of the analysis, positive tendencies were revealed in patients with gastric cancer, both in terms of diagnostic quality and in survival rates, in patients with oral cancer ― negative trends in diagnostic quality indicators and positive trends in survival rates; In patients with esophageal cancer ― negative trends, both in terms of quality of diagnosis, and in survival rates. To improve the quality of medical care for this group of cancer patients in the healthcare of the Samara region, a medical care delivery system has been developed and practically implemented, aimed at early detection of neoplasms and effective special combined antitumor treatment.

Key words: quality of medical care for patients with malignant neoplasms of the stomach, oral cavity and esophagus; system of medical care, focused on the early detection of tumors.
